🔥 A Pentecost Devotion | The Fire is Still Burning
"When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit."

Pentecost was not a quiet moment. It was wind. It was fire. It was a room full of ordinary people who were suddenly, unmistakably changed.
And here is the beautiful truth: that same Holy Spirit did not retire after the first century. He is still moving. Still calling. Still igniting hearts for the work of the Kingdom right where we live, work, and worship.
The early church did not grow because a few people did everything. It grew because many people said yes to something. A gift offered. A door opened. A neighbor welcomed. A child taught. A song lifted in worship. That Spirit is alive at Asbury UMC today, and He may be stirring something in you right now.

We are prayerfully inviting you to consider how God might be calling you to serve this year. Not out of obligation, but out of love. Not because someone asked you to fill a slot, but because the Spirit may be lighting a fire in your heart for something greater.

Life in the Kingdom, Asbury's Newest Class
LIFE IN THE KINGDOM
Led by Steve Parsons
Welcome to the 'Life in the Kingdom study group', a class premised on the prayer of Jesus that “Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.” As believers in Jesus as the Son of God and Messiah who await His return, how are we to live in the present world? How can we enable and advance the coming of God’s kingdom on this earth by the lives that we live?
These are the questions we seek to address in each study undertaken. Currently, the Life in the Kingdom study group is focusing on the Gospel of Mark to understand why it is properly considered the “essential gospel” for believers today.
Our study group is open to any and all adults of any age who wish to know more about life today in the kingdom of God. It meets in the La Rue classroom on the second floor of the education building on Sunday's at 9:00am.

At Asbury’s Benevolence Ministry, we offer hope in the form of emergency assistance to individuals and families who are on the brink of losing their housing due to overdue rent or utility bills. But this week, the need has outpaced our resources. Several families have reached out for help—and we no longer have the funds to say “yes.”
